It’s important to me, as a mental health professional, that you know exactly where I stand when it comes to my values.

INTEGRITY

  • In both my psychotherapy practice, I act with utmost integrity and pursue my work in an honest and ethical manner.

  • I will never use manipulation or fear-based language to encourage your engagement in any of the service I offer. I never ask my clients to push beyond their capacity of comfort.

  • I deeply honour the trust my clients place in myself, and act in accordance of this trust. Privacy and confidentiality are paramount in my work.

  • I will never promise you a specific outcome or result in the work that we do together because I understand that it is not possible or ethical to guarantee this. We will always work together to ensure that expectations are ones that have reasonable prospects of being met, and we will create goals that are right for you, not based on any external arbitrary ideals.

COMMITMENT

  • I will always respect your autonomy, and any work we do together is led by your ability to be self-directing within therapy and all aspects of life.

  • I am committed to promoting your well-being and avoiding any harm that may come from our work together. I will always act in your best interests, based on my professional assessment.

INCLUSION

  • I treat all clients in a fair and impartial manner, respecting their human rights and dignity. I am committed to equality of opportunity. I am conscious of my privileged position as a white, cis-gender, heterosexual, able-bodied woman, willing to continuously examine my own unconscious biases to reduce their influence in my thoughts and actions. I have a background in medical education, with a research interest in Social Justice in Medicine and Medical Education. So I have a deep understanding of how socio-cultural and political dynamics affect clinical practice and, through my research, I strive to contribute in shaping a more inclusive and equal access to healthcare.

INTEGRATION

  • I, too, commit to self-knowledge and self-care. This is important, so that I can offer you my healthier self to work alongside you in your self-care and self-healing journey. I invest in continuous personal training and development, but also clinical supervision and therapy.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • There are many free or low-cost options to working with me or learning from me, including my Instagram, email list, workshops and Somatic Practice in an online group environment.

  • I offer payment plans for all my psychotherapy services and courses, and believe payment plans are a form of financial accessibility.
